Serve to Grow
Hello!
My name is Gus Mushinski and I am currently apart of the Ford Leadership Scholars Class of 2023. I am a senior at Bridgeland Highschool and serve as the Bridgeland FFA Chapter president. During my time in FFA and the Ford Scholars program, I have learned vital skills and created lifelong relationships that will ensure my success outside of the blue cordoury jacket. I hope you enjoy my Ford Scholars project!
My Story
Before my time as an FFA member, I considered myself quiet and not outgoing. I found myself followng the same routine and never striving for something better. After I became an active member in my FFA chapter, I found that I had a passion for serving my community and getting out of my comfort zone. By organizing small community service events and public relation efforts, I had only developed my passions for helping others grow. Seeing how I wanted to make a major impact on my communtiy, I decied to apply for the Ford Leadership Scholar program. This program brings ten FFA members from across the state of Texas to create individualized service projects to bring home to their respective communities. During our time at scholars training, I was aksed to identift a need within my community. A major need I saw was how there are tons of community service opportunites in Cypress, Texas but a majority of them end up being trashed due to a lack of volunteers. I wanted to create a way to spread the word about these services and thus Serve to Grow was born.
